In America, 78% of people live paycheck to paycheck and 7 out of 10 couples do not budget consistently. Kilby Financial Coaching exists to bring hope to any financial situation. Eric is a Ramsey Preferred Coach and strives to use biblical based principles to help you devise a plan and achieve financial success. No situation is beyond resolution, and you will not be judged, no matter your circumstance. We are here to help and encourage, and consider it a privilege to work with you!
One big difference between coaching and planning is your financial status. A financial coach will help you "build" wealth by using solid money principles like budgeting, investing, saving, and debt reduction. On the other hand, a financial planner will help you "manage" wealth. They know the ins and outs of mutual funds, bonds, balancing portfolios, etc. They will help you keep and grow the wealth you've already built.

"Eric was a Godsend. We called him in a desperate time in our lives. He was gracious, kind, compassionate, and extremely willing to help us with no judgement or condescension. We knew the situation we put ourselves in, but he helped us see the light at the end of the tunnel...and then walked us through that tunnel. We would recommend Eric one-hundred times over. He truly was a blessing and now more than a coach, he's a friend." - Brian & Allison
"Eric helped us put a solid plan together that has worked wonders for us. We fully trust him. His motivation and encouragement throughout this process has brought us closer together and empowered us to take control of our financial health." - Joey & Chelsea
"Working with Eric was just what I needed to prioritize and put together a game plan that ultimately helped me pay off my student loans!" - Kaylee
"This has been a game changer! I know I wouldn't nearly be in this good of shape if I was still trying to figure it out on my own! Thank you for all of your wisdom and practical advice. We are both so grateful!" - Allie
“I would definitely recommend Eric as a financial coach. He is highly qualified to offer trusted advice and his time is worth every penny. I’m extremely grateful for Eric’s time and his coaching abilities.” - Emily
"Thank you for walking through this with us. You are motivating us, giving us hope and encouragement. We are excited about the help and freedom you are giving us! - Colleen & Joey
Marion, VA was certainly no booming metropolis, but it set the stage of life for me as a young boy. I learned about hard work, the value of a dollar, and how to save what I earned. At age 12, I started working for my parent’s business. When I was 16, I started working at the local music store and country radio station. That was a big year for me, as I also started my own mobile DJ and sound service business. The entrepreneurial spirit was in my blood.
After graduating high school, my college dream took me to Nashville, TN. During my first week at Belmont University, I got a part-time job at the Ryman Auditorium to make money and to start making connections toward my dreams. That was the first of many jobs I had throughout college.
After graduating in 2000, I proudly accepted my first salaried job in the music industry. While I enjoyed my job (especially since I was driving to historic Music Row every day), I was only there a year before leaving to work as a freelance contractor in the music industry.
A year later, I had more than doubled my salary and was onto the next chapter of my career in the music industry. It was very competitive. The harder I worked, the more doors closed. However, each year seemed to prove more successful than the year before. I found myself making a substantial income, but I was spending quite a bit of money in the process.
At age 32, through some difficult life circumstances, I lost almost everything I had. Though I had never stopped working hard, it was time to get serious, start over, and rebuild my life. Five years later by God’s grace, I was happier, more content, and more financially stable than I had ever been.
In 2014, after 16 years of a successful touring career, I accepted a position with Compassion International. Shortly after, I married my longtime friend, Emily. We currently live in Gallatin, TN. I’m honored to be an adjunct professor at Belmont University and am passionate about music. I enjoy woodworking and love playing racquetball in my free time. Being a Ramsey Preferred Coach allows me to use my gifts and knowledge to encourage others to hope, plan, and dream toward financial success. I look forward to working with you soon!
